Community Interest Company
About Fabdi Digital Centre
Fabdi Digital Centre CIC is a community interest company supporting women and young people from Somali and Arabic-speaking communities. We advance digital inclusion and social wellbeing by providing essential digital skills training, workshops, and one-to-one support.
Empowering communities through digital inclusion
Our programmes teach participants to use computers, smartphones, and the internet safely. This includes accessing key services like NHS and GOV.UK, using online banking, and recognising scams. We offer a safe, culturally sensitive environment to build confidence and independence.
Operating as a community hub, we work with local partners and volunteers, delivering sessions in-person and online. The organisation is funded through grants and contracts. This bank account is essential for managing all incoming funds and operational expenses, ensuring clear financial governance and supporting our mission to reduce inequality.

Who We Support
Our organisation’s activities directly benefit women and young people from Somali and Arabic-speaking communities who experience barriers such as language isolation, cultural constraints, and low digital literacy.
Women
Women benefit through targeted programmes that provide a culturally sensitive space to build skills and confidence. This enables them to manage household finances, support their children’s education, access healthcare, and protect their families from online fraud, leading to greater independence and social inclusion.
Youth
We empower the next generation to use digital tools for academic excellence, career development, and creative innovation. From coding to professional networking, we provide the skills and online safety guidance needed to navigate the digital world securely. By bridging the skills gap, we open clear pathways to higher education, training, and meaningful employment.
Our Story
Fabdi Digital Centre was founded on a simple, powerful belief: no one should be left behind in the digital age.
We saw that Somali, Arabic-speaking, and other migrant communities in London were facing a “double disadvantage” — struggling with language barriers while being shut out of essential online services for housing, health, and finance.
Fabdi was created as a safe, welcoming hub to bridge this gap. Here, you can learn, get support, and build confidence in your own language.
Founder’s Welcome
Hi, I’m Fowzia Abdi, the founder of Fabdi Digital Centre.
For nearly 20 years, I have led large-scale transformation programmes across IT, finance, legal, and government. That journey gave me a front-row seat to a powerful truth: when people have the right tools and skills, technology doesn’t just change systems — it changes lives.
Yet, within my own community, I saw a persistent gap. Brilliant women and young people were being left behind — not because of a lack of talent, but because of barriers like language, access, and digital confidence.
That insight is why Fabdi exists. We translate corporate-level knowledge of systems, security, and strategy into practical, compassionate support. Fabdi is a place where we speak your language, understand your culture, and provide a trusted space to gain the skills essential for modern life.
My vision is to leverage every lesson from my career to empower our community. At Fabdi, we’re not just teaching digital basics — we are equipping women and youth with the tools to navigate the world confidently, manage their families’ wellbeing, and unlock their full potential.
